Okta is a platform that connects employees to the applications and tools they need through single sign-on (SSO).
Okta SSO manages all of your application credentials and lets you securely access your apps from the Okta Dashboard or browser plugin.

What is Okta Verify?
Okta Verify is an MFA authenticator app developed by Okta that protects your data, ensuring that only you can access your app accounts. You can install Okta Verify on mobile and desktop devices.
You can use Okta Verify to confirm your identity using a push notification sent to your iOS or Android mobile device. If your sign-in page displays Sign in with Okta FastPass, you can use Okta Verify to sign in without using a username or password.
On all devices enrolled in FastPass, the Okta Verify app assesses the security of your device.

What is the Sign-in with Okta FastPass option?
The Sign in with Okta FastPass button allows you to sign in without entering your username, using device biometrics with the Okta Verify app.
To use Okta FastPass, you must download and set up the Okta Verify app on your device.
Can I use Okta FastPass without Okta Verify?
No, you can’t use Okta FastPass without Okta Verify.
Where is the biometric information stored?
Okta doesn’t store any biometric information. Biometric information generates a public and private key pair; the public key goes to Okta, whereas the private key stays on your system’s Trusted Platform Module (TPM) layer or secure enclave of your iOS system. Biometric information is not shared with Okta.
How can I download the Okta Verify app?

How do I reset my MFA?
For self-service, perform the following to reset your factor:
- Sign in to your Okta account using your username and password.
- If prompted, add your second factor for authentication.
- Once you’re logged in, select your name > Settings.
- Select Remove for the factor you want to reset.
- For security, you may be prompted to provide your password, second factor, or both.
- Select the factor you want to reset.
If you no longer have access to your device with Okta Verify (such as a lost or broken phone), please reach out to IT to have your MFA factor reset.
How can I change my password?
To change your Okta password:
- Sign in to your Okta account using your username and password.
- Once logged in, select your name, which is displayed at the top right corner of the Okta Dashboard, and select Settings from the dropdown menu.
- In the Change Password section, enter your current password and the new password you’ve chosen. Make sure your password meets the complexity guidelines set by your admin.
- Select Change Password.
If you do not see Change Password, select Edit Profile, if available. You may have to re-authenticate with a password and other security methods configured for your account. Contact helpdesk@msesupplies.com in case of any issues.
How do I unlock my account?
If you’re locked out of your account but still remember your password, select Unlock Account? at the bottom of the sign-in page. You may receive a prompt to re-authenticate with a password and other security methods configured for your account. Contact helpdesk@msesupplies.com in case of any issues.
How do I reset my forgotten password?
If you’ve forgotten your password, perform the following steps:
- Go to your Okta Dashboard.
- Enter your username, and select Next.
- From the Password page, select Forgot password?. The page prompts you to authenticate using additional security methods.
What are the different ways users can access Okta-integrated applications?
There are multiple ways to access Okta-integrated applications:
- Go to https://msesupplies.okta.com, sign in using your credentials, and select the application you want to access from your dashboard
- Select the app from your Okta browser plugin
- Go to the sign-in page for the application you want to access. The application redirects you to the Okta Sign-In page. If you already have a valid Okta session, you can directly access the application.
Does Okta work on my mobile device?
You can access Okta from your mobile device by navigating to https://msesupplies.okta.com from your browser. You can launch most applications directly from the mobile dashboard.
What is the Okta plugin?
The Okta plugin is a browser application you can install and use with your web browser. These plugins are sometimes called Browser Extensions (Chrome and Safari) or Add-Ons (Mozilla Firefox).
Okta recommends using the Okta plugin because it can help you access your apps faster than through the web Dashboard. The Okta plugin can autofill usernames and passwords for apps where the admin has configured a username or password for you.
To install the plugin, just click the Install button at the top of your Okta Dashboard.

How can I customize my Okta Dashboard?
You can customize your Okta Dashboard by adding sections, changing between list and grid view, and sorting apps. For customization information, refer to the Work with Apps section of the End User documentation.
Why am I still signed in to a few apps but logged out of Okta?
Okta doesn’t automatically sign you out of your applications when you sign out of your Okta session. Each app has its own session lifetime, and you can manually sign out of the app after completing your task.
